I went wandering along the railway tracks in the north end of Hamilton. This was taken under the Liuna Station, a restored train station that serves as a banquet centre. Prior to restoration, scenes of the X-Men movie were filmed there. Taken with the Yashica D.
A detail of a much larger photo I took of the Midway at the West Niagara Fair. Clearly some kind of Rural Vampire.
I’ve been socking away $20 a week, and yesterday I managed to picked up a V500 scanner on sale. It can scan 120 film as well as slides and 35 mm, and I’m delighted by the quality and the colour.
This is our family car, a 2004 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with 300,000 km on it, known affectionatly as “The Haunted Police Car.” It’s parked at our cottage on Amherst Island. Photo taken with Ricoh Singlex II.
In July, we rented a cottage on the very Shire-like community of Amherst Island. The cottage, though blissfully remote, was a rundown spider-haunted place with rotting floors. It was used as a hunting lodge/place-for-men-to-fire-shotguns-randomly into Lake Ontario. As such, the property was strewn with hundreds of spent shell casings. My youngest daughter started collecting them from the rocky shore. Here she is proudly displaying one she found underwater.
Taken with a Rioch Singlex II on Kodak 200 film of some kind.
Photo taken at the West Niagara Fair 4-cylinder demolition derby in Smithville in early September 2013. I got a little too close, and ended up picking mud out of my hair, shirt and viewfinder. Taken with the Yashica D on Ilford Delta 400 film.
This is what I’ve been using to scan negatives. It’s a couple of boxes, some LEDs, and an iPhone. I take photos of the backlit negs, then invert them.
And this is my other wife, or mate, or partner. We’re exploring an old abandoned bridge near the Welland Canal, an area rife with the relics of past engineering triumphs and failures.
(Yes, there are two wives simultaneously, we’re not Mormon, and we’re not in a cult, and yes, we live in the same house.)
Taken with a Seagull 4B1, on Ilford Delta 400.
