“In Her Character…”

An extremely old tombstone at Little Neck Cemetery in Rhode Island. The graves around it included a woman who came over on the Mayflower. This was part of a row of stones worn down and worn razor thin, like brittle teeth. Whoever lies beneath this stone was remembered for her “Christian moral and social virtues” which “shone with lustre” in her character.
