I picked up an Argus C3 rangefinder last week, at a sort of wizard’s cavern of a camera shop in Rochester, NY. The elderly proprietor was surprised by walk-in customers. We chatted for a good long time, and I picked up the only camera my scant budget would allow. But, oh, there were so many beautiful pieces gathering dust. I am liking the Argus a great deal. Despite being a basic rangefinder, it has a beautifully crisp lens. It transforms everyday scenes into dream-like places. In this photo, my youngest daughter emerges from the waters of Lake Simcoe.
